Portsmouth Keeps Growing... But How Much Growth Is Too Much?

It seems like every few months another major project is announced in Portsmouth. The newly unveiled $200 million McIntyre redevelopment plan is just the latest example of how much investment, change, and opportunity continues to flow into our city.

As someone who has lived and worked in this area for years, I can see both sides. Growth brings new housing, jobs, businesses, tax revenue, and energy to the community. At the same time, many longtime residents wonder about traffic, parking, affordability, and whether Portsmouth risks losing some of the charm and character that made people fall in love with it in the first place.

The reality is that times have changed. Portsmouth is no longer a hidden gem. People from across New England and beyond continue to discover what makes this area special.

I'm curious what others think. Are you embracing the growth and opportunities it brings? Or have you started to wonder if Portsmouth is becoming a little too big, a little too busy, or a little too expensive?

There are no right or wrong answers. It's an important conversation for all of us who care about the future of Portsmouth and the Seacoast.
